Hi! I’m Lizzie! I grew up in the strictest form of the Amish community but ran away at the age of 19 in pursuit of chasing my dreams and gaining my freedom.
From a very young age I learned how to cook and bake everything from scratch. I spent countless hours in the kitchen making everything from yummy fried chicken, to mashed potatoes to pies and cookies.
I have so many great memories of that time and so, cooking and baking are both relaxing and nostalgic for me. Since leaving the Amish community I have studied the anatomy and physiology of the body and am certified as a Functional Nutrition Practitioner. I have helped hundreds of people heal their bodies from chronic root cause health issues so they can live a healthier more vibrant life.
This recipe book is a mixture of some of my all time favorite recipes and dishes from my culture and recipes I have created myself since working in the health and wellness field. I have taken the time to take these recipes that I so dearly love and adapted them into a healthier version so you can make them, eat them and enjoy them without compromising your health.
I believe food is what brings people together… community! (Something the Amish are very well known for). But I also believe you can do so without compromising your health in the process.
You will find these recipes healthy yet full of flavor because I don’t believe you have to compromise on flavor or our health - you can have both.
